The Farley Mowat Boat Roofed House Working Committee, a small group of Farley Mowat admirers, and the Municipality of Port Hope, are working together to celebrate Farley. Moving the Farley Mowat Boat Roofed House is a monumental task. The purpose of relocating the structure is to create a public and permanent tribute to one of Canada's greatest literary figures and one of Port Hope's most distinguished residents. We are seeking financial contributions to assist with the costs associated with the relocation of this iconic structure.

The committee has a modest budget of $20,000, primarily to cover the costs of the stone wallers who will dismantle, move and re assemble the house on Thanksgiving weekend. If we are so fortunate as to exceed our goals, excess funds will be used to enhance the events programming, provide copies of Farley's books to Northumberland School libraries, or possibly to seed an annual Canadian Arts and Literature themed event.

The Municipality of Port Hope is kindly supporting the Committee with site preparation and with people and vehicles to physically move the stones: we also enjoy the generous participation of volunteers from the Municipality. However, the cash requirements are entirely the Committee's responsibility.

It's our hope that you will support our vision for relocating the boat roofed house structure and join me as an event contributor. If you wish to propose a custom sponsorship idea, the Committee will happily work with you.

Tax receipts will be issued for cash donations. The Municipality of Port Hope is handling this function. Donations may be made in person at the Town Hall by cheque, cash or credit card or by mail as follows:
